“From Castles to Art Galleries, Architectural marvels and sites of considerable Historic significance, I am proud to lead a Team giving active opportunities over the space of a few days on small-group Packages, to adults who seek lifelong learning in the company of like-minded people. Singles are especially welcome, making new friends along the way.”
Continues Neil, “Monday the 16th represents an indoor, winter, catered Event, showing and explaining what Boswell & Johnston’s Summer and Autumn 2026 Programme features. We work closely with the terrific Team of the iconic Glasgow Art Club led by President Robert Ferguson and Commercial Director, Gordon Yuill.
Notably, in September of this year we will be operating between 2 Cultural Bases, namely Glasgow Art Club in the Heart of Scotland’s Greatest City, and Boswell House and Estate, the ancestral home of James Boswell located in Burns Country and adjacent to King Charles’ architectural jewel Dumfries House, which boasts the best collection of classic Chippendale furniture.
“Famously, in 1773 James Boswell enticed Samuel Johnson, compiler of the first dictionary of the English Language, to Tour the Western Isles of Scotland, very much a terra incognita at that time. In forming my organisation I have taken inspiration from this example from the cultural watershed of the Scottish Enlightenment. We celebrate the past, honour the present and aim to help shape the cultural future.”
